Prof Dan Zhang joins 1st ZJU Scholars Summer Research Program
In the summer of 2018, Zhejiang University will initiate the 1st ZJU Scholars Summer Research Program for talented students from selected partner universities with the aim of promoting existing academic ties among its strategic partners and providing cutting-edge research experience to the young generation of future leaders and experts worldwide.
For each selected partner institution, ZJU will provide up to 2 students with a scholarship to participate in a research project of their choice at ZJU for 6 weeks from Jul. 5th to Aug. 16th, 2018.
Prof Dan Zhang from our hospital is one of the renowned ZJU professors who have joined this program. She and her research team will welcome any successful applicant to participate in a research project relating to the female reproductive medicine under her guidance. During the 6-week program, the international participant will join the elite cohort of domestic post docs, postgraduate and senior undergraduate students in a dynamic, inspiring environment and become an integral part of the innovative and diversified ZJU community.
The scholarship includes:
√Waived application fee and program tuition fee
√Free on-campus accommodation from Jul. 4th to Aug. 17th, 2018 (double room)
√A living allowance of 2100RMB (approximately 333USD) per person
Eligibility
√Outstanding full-time undergraduate students between their third and fourth years, masters or PhD students from the selected partner universities
√Good English proficiency (no English language certificate is required)
√Relevant academic background (please see the special requirements of each lab in the excel file)
√Non-Chinese nationality
√Applicants must nominated by the International Office of their home university
√Applicants must receive approval for the research program from a ZJU advising professor before submitting applications to the International Office of ZJU
Program costs
Students will have to bear their own international airfare, local transportation, insurance, visa application fee as well as other personal expenses in Hangzhou.
Application process
√Apr. 23rd, 2018: Announcement of the program application
√Apr. 23rd to May 20th, 2018: Students need to contact ZJU professors by themselves and get the scanned copy of the written approval from a ZJU professor before the deadline of application. Please indicate “ZJU Scholars” in the subject of your email to ZJU professors. Students are also recommended to e-mail their CV, a recommendation letter from their home university supervisor, research proposal and latest transcripts to ZJU professors of their choice.
√May 20th, 2018: Deadline for nomination and submission of application (please e-mail the nomination sheet together with the application documents to the IRO coordinator of ZJU).
√Jun. 1st, 2018: Admission announcement
√Before Jul. 3rd 2018: Students should purchase their international insurance and get the visa to China in their home country.
